We are proud to team up with Amazon Studios to provide our #BFANationals players and coaches with a special screening of Prime Video’s new series A League of Their Own. This series is a reimagined version of Penny Marshall’s 1992 iconic film about the All-American Girls’ Professional Baseball League.
A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall’s beloved classic, while widening the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball, both in and outside of the AAGPBL. The show follows Carson (Abbi Jacobson) and Max (Chanté Adams) and a new ensemble of sharp and hilarious characters as they carve their paths toward the field, along the way finding their teams and themselves.
Following the screening, all players and coaches will get an opportunity to participate in a Q&A with special guests including Maybelle Blair (member of the All-American Girls’ Professional Baseball League), Justine Siegal (BFA Founder, “A League of Their Own” Baseball Coordinator), Tracy Reiner (Betty Spaghetti in the original “A League of Their Own”), and moderated by Lena Park (“A League of Their Own” Baseball Coordinator).
This is a PRIVATE event and will only be available to players and coaches attending BFA Nationals. Please contact lena@baseballforall.com for details.
