2022 is shaping up to be the biggest year for advancements in women’s baseball. There are eight women playing collegiate baseball this year, and all-girls baseball teams are popping up all over the country. Still, the sport is not widely accepted, or accessible to many girls, tons of whom are told to “switch to softball.”
That is not the case for 14-year-old Rutland native Morgan Lucas, the Worcester Red Sox’ Hometown Hero honoree on July 6.
